Briton John again showed his class as he claimed the ultimate glory, one again finding himself in first position with the title in the seniors’ race with a powerful sprint that left his competitors chasing shadows in the 2025 Cheddi Jagan Memorial Road Race on Sunday.
Aaron Newton, with a few metres gap, managed to come in second place followed by Jamaul John as they both showcased the growth of their cycling ability.
In the juniors event, Alex Newton rode his way to a dominant first-place finish, taking the lead early and never looking back. After a fierce battle, Alexander Leung and Adjani Cutting who were closely following him, finished second and third, respectively.
In the meantime, Phillip Clark crossed the finish line first in the over-40 Open thanks to his seasoned legs. Marlon Willams closely followed in second while Llyn Murray finished third, respectively.
Reigning supreme in the Over 40 Category was the resilient Junior Niles as he faced still competition from Mark Spencer as he fillied the position of second while Ian Jackson settled for third place.
Phillip Clarke and Briton John with their cycling prowess copped two special prizes as compared to Paul DeNobrega and Alex Newton as they each bagged one special prize.
