Despite the cold atmosphere in the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on Sunday as Buckets prevailed in the Guyana Basketball Federation One Guyana Basketball Premier League as Masters, Stabroek Eagles and Jets sealed their wins.
Taking the first jump ball of the night was the winless Black Caimans against a strong Jets as the first quarter saw both teams swishing in a high-scoring quarter but it was the Jets holding a 27-22 margin.
The Jet would continue to hold a firm grip on the lead as they managed to put up 14 points as compared to Panthers scoring only 11 points as the scoreboard would go on to illustrate 41-34.
Limiting Panthers offensive attack while the Jets seemed to dominate the game as they would go on to bucket 17 points as they limited the Panthers not to reach double digits scoring only 8 points with 17 points.
The Jets would go onto strengthen their offensive and defensive unit as the Panthers ended the weekend with two losses as they bagged their fourth win of the season with a 15 points victory and the score 70-55.
With Eagles looking to remain unbeaten came across a dominant Nets currently occupying the first-place position as the first quarter saw Eagles wasting no time to separate from their counterparts as they had a 20-13 lead.
Mustering a mammoth of 22 points in the second quarter from the Stabroek Eagles while compared to 16 points scored by their opponents in a high – scoring quarter as the scoreline illustrated 42 – 29 .
With a one point separation scoring 18 points was the Eagles while the Masters swished 17 points as the Eagles still maintained their lead with the score 60 – 46 as they looked to continue ways heading into the final quarter.
A 84 – 51 win for the Stabroek Eagles would see them elevating from fifth place to first position in the Harpy Eagle Conferernce as they set their eyes on the playoff while Net sitting in second position.
Master’s with the abundance of experience managed to find their way to a 28 – points victory over Retrieve Raiders as they have seemed to lose their touch after suffering consecutive losses.
