With the ball in hand and wicket-taking a priority as Shane Prince guided DCB XI to a hard fought 10 runs victory over East Coast in the DCB U19 Inter-Association 2025 at Transport Ground.
With the toss going in the favor of DCB outfit as they choose to take strike at the new ball as they managed to demolish the East Coast bowling attack as Kishawn Silas went on to score a mammoth of 70 runs as Jonathon Mentore struck the ball for 31 runs and Dhanesh Persaud with 21 runs as they set a target of 198.
With his consistency in line and length as Tyriq Walters received five wickets being pivotal while Nicholas Shiopersaud with 2 wickets as Nityanand Mathura and Saif Ragbeer each received one wicket.
The batting unit for the East Coast Unit early on looked detrimental as they stroked the ball ferociously but could not carry through despite a knock of 85 runs coming from Vickash Wilkinson and Nicholas Shiopersaud with 25 runs as they fell short of 10 runs scoring 188 runs.
With a four-wicket haul coming the dangerous Shane Prince leading the DCB Outfit and receiving support from Dhanesh Persaud with two wickets and Jonathon Mentore, Andy Ramgolam and Ravaldo Pereira with one wicket each.
Meanwhile, over at the Meten-Meer-Zorg Ground, Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA), led by Shiloh Adams who scored 94, thrashed West Demerara Cricket Association by a massive 199-run margin.
