Mr. R Budhram Deputy Commissioner of Police Administration and Chairman of the Guyana Police Force Cricket met with Head Coach of the Guyana National Cricket Team Mr. Ryan Hercules, along with two police ranks who will be representing Guyana in the upcoming West Indies Breakout โT20โ tournament in Trinidad and Tobago.
Quentin Sampson, and Kemol Savory, have been selected to compete in the international tournament, scheduled for April 22 to May 10. Both players have been playing for the Guyana Police Force for over a decade.
Coach Hercules, who has more than 15 years of coaching experience, has spent four years leading the Guyana National Team, during which time he guided the team to win three consecutive titles. These include the Regional Four-Day Championship in 2023, as well as victories with the Guyana Harpy Eagles. He is also a Coach at the Guyana Police Sports Club. Coach Hercules in brief remarks stated, โThis is a big opportunity, but itโs also just the beginning. Stay focused, stay disciplined, and remember the hard work that got you here. Represent the Force and the country with pride, and use every game to grow, both as athletes and as individuals.โ
During the meeting, Mr. Budhram congratulated Sampson and Savory on their accomplishment and extended best wishes. He also presented the players with complete cricket kit in support on behalf of the Guyana Police Force.
Mr. Budhram also reminded the players of the responsibility they carry, stating, โYou are ambassadors of both the Guyana Police Force and the nation. Your conduct on and off the field should reflect the values we uphold.โ He added.
