With the group stage of the Guyana Basketball Federation One Guyana Premier Basketball League near completion as Victory Valley Royals and Stabroek Eagles extend winning streak while Flames continue winning ways at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on Saturday.

The Flames, who were hoping to recover from a defeat, sparked action against Berbice Renegades. They came out on top, winning 17–13 in the first quarter.

A hard fought second quarter from the Renegades as they managed to overturn their deficit and go into the second half with a four points advantage as they went on to score 16 points while Flames could only score eight points as the score line read 29-25.

Marinating there leads in the third quarter as the Renegades scored 21 points as Flames were limited to 20 points as the scoreline read 50 – 45 as the Renegades ended the quarter with smiling face and high confidence.

The Flames went all out with their shots scoring as they would go on to hammer a 3-point defeat to Berbice Renegades with the score 72-69 bagging their fifth win while Renegades suffer their fourth loss.

Shamar Savory was on form with his buckets for Flames as he contributed 28 points proving to be a critical asset while Lerone Joseph bucketed 19 points and following would be Oroyo Thurman with 10 points

With Eagles looking to be on the trajectory to secure championship status came across a confident panther as they came off their first win and looked like they were going to continue as the first quarter was low scoring, but Eagles had a 9-5 lead.

Mustering a mammoth of 5 points in the second quarter from the Stabroek Eagles while compared to eight points scored by their opponents as the scoreline illustrated 30 – 10.

Despite outscoring the Eagles in the third quarter, scoring 18 points compared to Eagles 17 points as the Eagles still maintained their lead with the score 47-28 as they looked to continue ways heading into the final quarter.

Going onto secure their Seventh win and recording nine wins is the Stabroek Eagles over Panthers with the scoreline 59-48 as the Panthers chances of advancing to the playoffs are minimized.

Zion Gray took the game with his ball-handling skills as he led the scoring for Stabroek Eagles topping 20 points followed by Travis Belgrave scored 10points..

Closing of the night proceeding saw a sensational game as bounty Colts and Victory Valley Royals which resulted in Royals coming out on top with a 14- points victory as the scoreline indicated 61-47.
