Jets, Masters and University of Guyana Trojans got a firsthand taste of success on Sunday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall in the Guyana Basketball Federation One Guyana Premier Basketball league.
The inaugural game of the night saw no short of amazing ball-handling skills as Linden sides Jets and Kings squared off on the court as at the end of the first quarter saw the Jets attaining a 18-14 lead.
A repeat performance from the Jets with another 4- point lead in the second quarter as the Jets mustered 18 points compared to Kings 14 points which would then see the elevation of the score to 36โ28 going into the second half.
The Jets didnโt let go and held a firm grip on the lead as they scored 10 points while Kings were limited to scoring only 7 points giving the Jets a major advantage going into the final quarter with the scoreline of 46-33.
The Jets in the fourth quarter went on to secure their third win with a 14 points victory as they maximized their chances of advancing to the playoffs as the scoreboard illustrated 62-48.
The University of Guyana Trojans looking to bag two wins over the weekend contested against a strong and youthful Meadowbrook Nets who are unbeaten as the first quarter separated by one point as Nets prevailed with the score 19 -18.
Managing to bucket consecutive buckets was the Nets as they extended their lead as they swished 25 points as the Trojans could only score 11 points resulting in the scoreline showcasing 43- 30.
The Third quarter saw buckets on display as the Trojans continued their brilliance swishing 17 points while the Nets mustered 16 points as the scoreline saw a 14 โ point separation heading into the final quarter.
Despite putting the ball through the hopes for 25 points by the Meadowbrook Nets in the final quarter it was deemed a little too late as the Trojans walked away with all two points as the scoreboard showed 78 โ 71.
With the East Coast All-stars failure to pierce defenses and score consecutive buckets as in the last game of the night they plummeted to 43 points defeat to Masters as they showed their brilliance on the court.
