The 11th Annual MILO U-18 Schools Football Tournament got off to a thrilling start yesterday with six action-packed matches at the Education and Queen’s College Grounds.

At the Education Ground, Chase’s Academic Foundation dominated Hope Secondary with a commanding 5-1 victory. Bryan Wharton was the star of the match, netting four goals (2′, 16′, 25′, 68′), while Darius Chester added another in the 4th minute. Hope Secondary’s lone goal came from Damario Webb in the 21st minute.

Dolphin Secondary delivered a statement performance, crushing Tutorial High 8-0. Gavin Adams opened the scoring in the 10th minute, followed by goals from Ezekiel Frank-David (12′, 60′), Jomal Williams (40′, 44′, 66′), Tyler Abrams (46′), and Rashleigh Hall (70′).

Waramuri Secondary also enjoyed a strong start, securing a 3-0 victory over South Ruimveldt. Paul Lewis (57′), Rondell Peters (65′), and Erwin Booker (68′) found the back of the net to seal the win.

Over at the Queen’s College Ground, Three Miles Secondary edged past West Demerara Secondary 1-0, with Lebron Mendonca scoring the decisive goal in the 16th minute.

Abram Zuil Secondary delivered a commanding performance, shutting out St. John’s College 5-0. Omar Kendall (27′, 39′), Lester Noel (35′), Eron Benjamin (42′), and Jaden Evans (54′) all got on the scoresheet in a dominant display.

Charlestown Secondary rounded off the day’s action with a 3-1 win over New Central High. D’Angelo Dick (25′), Adriel Hamilton (21′), and Adion Marks (59′) secured the win, while Trevor Gordon (12′) scored the lone goal for New Central.

With impressive attacking displays and solid defensive performances, the first round of the MILO U-18 tournament set the stage for an exciting competition ahead.(592 Outlet)
