Intense performances were displayed on Saturday at the Guyana Football Federation Elite 2025 at the National Training Centre, with Den Amstel FC proving to be a title contender and the Slingers moving closer to championship status withs wins.
The action with a stiff battle between Den Amstel FC and Guyana Defence Force FC as from the first whistle the game was no short of excitement as the Den Amstel unit would look to go on the attack as they found the back of the net with kicks from the spot in the 16’ off of Deon Alfred.
As the first half neared completion with the Power that inherits in the Defense Force unit in their offensive as they managed to equalize the game with a goal in the 33’ off the feet of Chris Macey.
A penetrative Den Amstel FC in the second quarter as they looked strong on their offensive side as Jomal Robinson in the 60’ would go on to score a banger which proved to be decisive as with a great defensive unit the Den Amstel held on to the 2-1 victory.
The Proceedings took a change for the anticipating matchup of the night as Guyana Police Force FC Came against Slingers FC as the game started with powerful performance but both teams would fail to score as the first half ended with a goalless draw.
The second quarter saw from the start the Guyana Police Force unit with their intensity as they managed to pierce the Slingers defense as shots graced the crossbar off the feet of the Police men.
With the slingerz outfit managing to keep their composure they managed to pressure the police defensive unit which resulted in a miss- pass in the 23’ as Derron Niles took full opportunity as he scored the separation goal for Slingers.
With the game near completion the Police unit kept their composure and looked to equalize the game as they attacked the slingers’ goal but would fail as the Slingers Fc sealed their 1-0 win.
