The Cliff Anderson Sports Hall was the helm of basketball talents as the Georgetown Regionals Boys U18 of the KFC Regional Basketball Tournament got underway Friday as Saints Stanislaus College, North Georgetown Secondary, President’s College and Government Technical Institute acquired contrasting wins.

Kicking off the excitement saw a hard-fought battle between Saints Stanislaus College and the School of the Nations resulting in the Saints outfit walking away with a 3-point victory with the score of 40-37.

Kadeem Beckles showed his prowess with the ball leading the scoring for Saints Stanislaus College swishing 12 points, 4 rebounds while Daniel Chisholm put up 11 points, 6 rebounds and Rolson Pollard with 10 points, 6 rebounds.

Dequan James, Ruedi Vancooten, and Levi Stanley each scored 8 points for the School of the Nations.

North Georgetown Secondary School wasted no time in the second game as they dominated the court, handing down 40 points defeat to Plaisance Secondary with the scoreboard indicating 47- 7.

With 20 points his name was Mekhi Ritchie as led the offensive attack for North Georgetown while Sean Duncan added 12 points and 6 rebounds.

The anticipating matchup of the night saw Presidents College with a young team attaining a 5- points win over a fast- paced Queen’s college with the scoreline reading 25-20.

Romel Paul starred for President’s College bucketing, 13 points, 5 rebounds while Michael Joseph contributed 4 points, 4 rebounds.

On the losing hand Allan Patterson swished , 9 points, 7 rebounds as compared to Darren Dublin scoring 6 points.

Falling victims to a powerful attack from the Government Technical Institute was the St Rose’s High School as they suffered a 7 – points  with the scoreboard highlighting 35-28.

Alwyn Adams with  12 points and  4 rebounds showed his class on the court while Jahiem Barnwell followed mustering 8 points, 6 rebounds as Raymond Paul bucketed 7 point.
