Guyana in a phenomenal fashion managed to start off their Girls 2025 Junior Pan American Challenge on March 8th,2025 as they bagged a 4-0 victory over Guatemala at the Sir Garfield Sports Complex. Barbados.
With the Guyana Girls adjusting to the playing field they showed dominance from the start as in the first quarter the ladies wasted no time as a strike of the ball from 19-year old Georgiana Fernandes finding the back of the net .
The goal in the first quarter would then give the ladies an advantage as ย Kazaquah UZZI with her ability to pierce creases would go onto score a goal as the Guyanese Women displayed their courage with the ball.
In the final two quarters of the game with the ball coming off the hockey stick with the 12โ and 41 seconds on the clock from Fernandes completing her brace in the third quarter and Keitanna Percival with 11โ left on the clock in the fourth quarter as they see sealed Guyanaโs Opening Win.
The Guyana Women will turn their focus to their next games as they will share the field against Mexico who are ranked 40 in the world ranking tomorrow at the same venue.
