On this International Women’s Day, the Lusignan Golf Club (LGC) proudly celebrates the remarkable women who continue to shape the game of golf—on and off the course. From passionate players to dedicated supporters and influential leaders, women have been breaking barriers in the sport, proving that golf is for everyone.

One of the most inspiring figures in women’s golf at LGC is none other than Club President Anasha Ally. As the only woman on the executive and an active golfer, her leadership has played a crucial role in promoting inclusivity within the club. Under her guidance, LGC has seen growing female participation, encouraging more women to pick up a club and take their place on the green.

LGC President Anasha Ally said, “It’s been an honor serving thus far as the first female president of this golf club.  Many times I have drawn  on the strength, innate power and grace  of the strong lady golfers  who have graced this club and I’ve had the great fortune of knowing. May our club continue to grow from strength to strength with the valuable contributions of them all and those to come.”

Golf has long been a sport of tradition, but women across the world—and right here at LGC—continue to redefine its future. Whether as competitors, mentors, or advocates, they inspire the next generation of female golfers to step up with confidence. The club remains committed to fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for women to develop their skills and thrive in the game.

As we celebrate International Women’s Day, LGC extends its appreciation to all the women who contribute to the sport. Their dedication, passion, and resilience are paving the way for greater opportunities and representation in golf.

The Lusignan Golf Club, the only golf course in Guyana, is committed to growing the sport by creating an inclusive and competitive environment for all players.
