With the Stabroek Eagles looking to dominate in the Guyana Basketball Federation One Guyana Basketball Federation currently sitting  first place in the Jaguar Conference as Zian Gray is optimistic that his team can reign supreme. 

With four wins in four games The Stabroek Eagles have won their games by 10+ points as Gray in his second tournament with this team joining a dominant partnerships of Travis Belgrave and  Devin Ross. 

With the Eagles having two games in hand compared to Second place Meadowbrook Nets as Gray divulged on the confidence that their position gives the team an edge over the competitors.    

“It gives us a bit of confidence over the rest of the team because being 4-0 at the moment  is really a good accomplishment because we execute what the coaches taught us in practice  and we go by encouraging teammates to make the right play.  So, it’s a good accomplishment at the moment and it gives us an edge over other teams.  So, going into the playoffs, I think it’s a great accomplishment” Gray said in a exclusive interview with Sports Guyana.

As they prepare to clash with a winless Panthers on March 23 as Gray disclosed despite the team not being a tough competitors that teamwork and a serious mindset will be necessary on the court. 

“So, we will just continue what we are doing at first.  It’s playing as a team and executing as a team what you were taught in practice. Just come out on the court and execute that.  So, our next game is on the 23rd, it’s Panther.Not much of a threat to us but we still have to play as a team and take every game seriously until the job is done.”

Zian Gray as he currently leads the points tables as he expressed gratification and the overwhelming feeling  

“ As I said, first thing I have to get down to Jesus Christ. I would like Him to give me the strength, my teammates. Is it a good feeling? Nobody sees the work.  People do it individually.So, what you work for, you get.  So, people do the work. I’m feeling very extremely proud of myself. Leading the league is fine.  So, that’s a great feeling.”

The Guyana basketball Federation One Guyana Premier Basketball League will see its continuation over the weekend at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall as eight teams will showcase the lucrative skills.
