Manchester City’s Second-Half Surge Seals 3-1 Win Over Brugge.

Manchester City produced a brilliant second-half performance to mount a swift comeback and secure their spot in the UEFA Champions League knockout phase with a 3-1 win over Club Brugge. A victory was essential for Pep Guardiola’s team in their final group-stage match to stay in the competition.

However, City’s hopes were shaken when Brugge’s Raphael Onyedika struck a powerful shot just before halftime to put the Belgian side ahead. Facing an uphill battle in the second half, Guardiola made an attacking change, bringing on Savinho for Ilkay Gundogan, a move that proved to be inspired.

The Brazilian added fresh energy, putting pressure on Brugge, which eventually paid off when Mateo Kovacic equalized with a brilliant solo effort just eight minutes into the second half. Nine minutes later, City took the lead as Savinho set up Josko Gvardiol, whose shot forced an own goal from Joel Ordonez, giving the hosts some much-needed breathing room.

Savinho sealed the win in the 77th minute, collecting a fantastic pass from John Stones before slotting the ball into the net to confirm City’s place in the play-offs, where they will face either Bayern Munich or defending champions Real Madrid.
