With two resounding victories over the weekend at the New Amsterdam Basketball tarmac, the reigning champions East Bank Gunners swept into the Guinness Greatest of the Street Berbice zone semifinals.

The Gunners thrashed Young Strikers 3-0 in the quarterfinals on Saturday night, led by the prolific Keron George, who has scored five goals in the tournament thus far. George scored all three goals.

George led the way with a brace, and Treon Wintz and Joseph Giddings also scored a goal as the Gunners thrashed Rose Hall 4-0 on the opening night Friday.

With Shanny Campbell scoring the game-winning goal in a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Trini Gunners, Manchester easily advanced to the semi-finals. In their first game, the Manchester team had defeated Itacha Ballers. In the semi-finals, they will now play the Gunners.

Additionally, Paradise Ballers and Ballers United have advanced to the round of four; both teams had to work hard to get there. Ballers United defeated Young Guns in a penalty shootout, while Paradise defeated Outsiders 1-0 thanks to a goal from Terique Benn.

Twelve teams started the competition with Rose Hall, Litchfield, New Amsterdam Lions, Scott School, Renegades, Trafalgar and Ithaca suffering early elimination.

The semi-finals and finals will be contested on Saturday evening at the NA Basketball tarmac.

The winners will cart off $500,000, with runners-up securing $300,000, third $200,000 and fourth $100,000.

The 2025 countrywide Guinness Greatest of the Street championships will also be played in Essequibo, Linden, West Demerara, Bartica and Georgetown.
